Creative Leadership grant

Submissions open Aug 23 - Sept 20, 2025

The Creative Leadership Grant is an opportunity for Black Trans Leadership Austin to support and invest in our local Black and Brown transgender & queer creative leaders.

BTLA believes that some of the most powerful and impactful change has been pioneered by our creative community. It’s the writers, the performers, the nightlife entertainers, the space holders, and the ones that dared to imagine something different that forge the paths to better outcomes. These leaders are vital to the growth and wellbeing of the Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ community and deserve to be invested in. 

Whether you're an independent artist, performer, or space curator, here is an opportunity to push your creative leadership a little further.  

Important Dates:

  • Saturday August 23, 2025 - Application opens.

  • Saturday September 20, 2025 - Applications close.

  • Tuesday October 7, 2025 - Awarded submissions will be announced via email.

The Creative Leadership Grant gives $1,500 to 10 creative leaders in the Black and Brown transgender and queer community. Each awarded submission will receive $1,500.

How it works

Black Trans Leadership Austin works to prioritize Transgender & Non-Binary & otherwise GenderFluid or GenderQueer Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other people of color within the LGBTQIA2S+ community. We are a growing organization that is making it possible to put direct aid into our communities hands using community support and grant funding.
